We are seeking experienced and passionate Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our founding team! Key Responsibilities - Direct Client Care
- Implement individualized service plans (ISPs), treatment plans, and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as developed and supervised by a BCBA, including both skill acquisition programs and behavior reduction procedures
- Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to clients in their homes throughout Virginia
- Teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors, communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills
- Use evidence-based ABA teaching strategies including discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and incidental teaching
- Follow protocols for managing challenging behaviors safely and effectively
Data Collection & Documentation
- Collect accurate and detailed data on client behavior, skill acquisition, and program implementation during each session
- Complete timely session notes and documentation in Aloha/Hi Rasmus (or designated electronic health record system)
- Track client progress toward goals and report observations to supervising BCBA
- Document any incidents, safety concerns, or significant changes in client behavior
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with supervising BCBA regarding client progress, challenges, and concerns
- Participate in regular supervision meetings with BCBA (minimum 5% of hours worked)
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers to support skill generalization and carryover
- Maintain professional boundaries and positive relationships with clients and families
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions as needed
Professional Development
- Maintain active RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Complete required continuing education units (CEUs) for recertification
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Stay current with best practices in ABA and behavior analysis
- Adhere to the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code at all times
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including BYOD policy for documentation
- Ensure safe environment during sessions and report any safety concerns immediately
- Respect client homes and follow household rules
- Complete all required background checks, health screenings, and compliance training
Required Qualifications
- Current RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in good standing
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a certified RBT providing ABA services
- Completion of 40-hour RBT training course
- Passed RBT competency assessment
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for travel to client homes in the Richmond metro area
- Current auto insurance meeting Virginia state requirements
- Must pass Virginia State Police background check, Virginia CPS Registry check, and FBI fingerprint background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a certified RBT
- Experience working with children or individuals with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities in home settings
- Experience implementing ABA programs across diverse environments
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
- Familiarity with the Richmond metro area

- Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques

- Ability to follow written behavior intervention plans and treatment protocols
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Patience, flexibility, and creativity in teaching approaches
- Ability to work independently in client homes with minimal direct supervision
- Physical ability to engage in active play, implement physical prompting, and manage challenging behaviors safely
- Comfort working with diverse populations and in various home environments
- Proficiency with technology for documentation (smartphone/tablet)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to engage in physical activities including playing on the floor, outdoor play, and active games
- Manual dexterity for implementing teaching procedures and prompting
- Visual and auditory acuity to monitor client behavior and safety
Work Environment
- In-home settings throughout Henrico, Richmond, Midlothian, and surrounding areas
- Travel required between client homes
- Flexible scheduling including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and potentially weekends
- Work may involve exposure to pets, various home environments, and noise levels
- Some clients may exhibit challenging behaviors
Schedule & Availability
- Part-time positions available, Full Time optional
- Typical hours: Monday-Friday with some weekend availability preferred
- Sessions typically range from 2-4 hours per client
- Service area includes Henrico, Richmond, Midlothian, and surrounding communities
- Flexibility required to accommodate client and family schedules
